My journey with microneedling started because of long-standing acne scarring. I suffered with cystic acne from my young teenage years, through to my 30's, before I decided enough's enough. I took the plunge, and went on Accutane (also known as isotretinoin). As much as this cured my acne, it left me looking at just how much my skin had been damaged over the years. Deep pockmarks, pigmented areas, lumps and bumps, it was all suddenly telling a story of just how much my poor skin had been through. I tried countless products to help hydrate and fix the damage, but nothing gave me the visible, lasting results I was hoping for.

It wasn’t until I discovered microneedling that things really changed. After just a couple of sessions, the texture and tone of my skin improved dramatically. The marks that had been with me since I was 15 began to fade — and with that, so did a lot of the insecurity that came with them.
